Didier Cazin

General Manager

With his combination of relevant formal training and qualifications and lots of practical knowledge and experience, Didier is a skilled business operator and invaluable member of the Engtec Engineering management team.

  • Didier matriculated in 1994 and immediately went to work at Roco Engineering, a business in which his father Marcel Cazin was a partner, to gain hands-on knowledge of machining and engineering best practices. He completed his apprenticeship as a machinist from 1995 – 1998.
  • During 1998 and 1999 he also completed an N5 Diploma in Drafting (mechanical, structural, general, and building)
  • In 1999 he joined Marcel to found Mercury Engineering, along with two other business partners.
  • Mercury Engineering rapidly became a significant industry player. In 2007 Didier and Marcel sold their share of the business via a BEE buyout transaction and exited the business (and the industry for a season as both were subject to a 5-year restraint of trade agreement with the new owners).
  • In 2012 Didier re-entered the industry to start up Engtec Engineering with Marcel and Ryan, his brother. Didier currently serves as the General Manager.
